Allan Caswell - Swing The Blues

When Allan Caswell and his producer Lindsay Waddington were choosing songs for his Really Long Goodbye album, they decided that you can’t have a classic country album without at least one honky tonk song. Swing The Blues was written just after the last Lynchburg album (it even name checks Lynchburg in the lyrics) and it was a no brainer for Really Long Goodbye. "It has everything I love about classic country music … a solid shuffle beat, pedal steel, twin fiddles and Waddo’s Telecaster. Swing The Blues is Marian’s favourite song on the album, and it seemed somehow appropriate to release it on my 74th Birthday … the cool thing about being at this end of my career is I get to enjoy just making records … Waddo always makes sure it’s fun." Caswell is a year into his Really Long Goodbye tour, and it is showing no signs of slowing down. In the last 12 months, he has played at a number of major festivals, released a string of top 10 singles from his Really Long Goodbye album and lent his vocals to hits by Susanna Colley, Dianne Coombes and Wattmore. "Swing The Blues is classic country music … That’s who I am … I want any track you hear from my album to sound like country music … I’m not interested in anything crossover. Writing with Waddo is always interesting, we have a real chemistry on everything we write and are constantly looking for new angles. That’s why it’s a Really Long Goodbye Tour … I’m having way too much fun to stop any time soon."

New Release for Larry Cann

Following a hugely successful year that has left Larry Cann with more awards in his collection to dust off, Larry is releasing his first track of 2026. Known for his dedication to cowboys and rodeos, "Cowboys Hands" is no exception but, it does come with a twist.Larry explains: "The song came about from the very first songwriting session that Larry had in Nashville in June of 2023. I'd been set to write with Scott Barrier who has written with quite a few Aussie over the years via Michael Flanders ex-pat Aussie and my producer. We introduced each other and Scott had said I'd definitely lived the cowboy lifestyle as he had said he looked up my background. Through this conversation he said lets write a cool cowboy song. Not about hats, not about boots but how about the Cowboys Hands which was what farmers, and cattleman stood by and used day by day. In the song it depicts a cowboy running the rodeo trail pulling a trailer down the road as he goes. The hands in many ways are the heart of the cowboy as the song suggests. The track features an A list of players with smooth production from Michael and Caleb Flanders. Its radio friendly and will be a favourite live with the full band."
